Green Smoothies That Don't Taste Like Grass
Share
Green smoothies have a bad reputation — and most of them deserve it. Too much kale, not enough fruit, blended in something underpowered that leaves chunks. The fix isn't a different ingredient, it's better balance and a blender that actually does its job.
These three portable blender green smoothie recipes are genuinely good. Not "good for a green smoothie." Just good.
1. Honeyed Spinach & Pear
- 1 large handful baby spinach
- 1 ripe pear, cored and chopped
- 1 tsp honey
- 180ml cold water
Blend 35 seconds. The pear does most of the heavy lifting — sweet, smooth, no bitterness.
2. Avocado Lime & Mint
- ½ ripe avocado
- Juice of 1 lime
- 6 fresh mint leaves
- 200ml coconut water
Blend 40 seconds. Creamy without dairy, refreshing without being thin. Best drunk immediately.
3. Kiwi Cucumber Cooler
- 2 kiwis, peeled
- ½ cucumber, roughly chopped
- 150ml apple juice
- 4 ice cubes
Blend 40 seconds. Naturally sweet, no added sugar needed, and genuinely the most refreshing thing on a warm afternoon.
The secret: Always blend leafy greens with liquid first for 15 seconds before adding the rest — it eliminates any stringy texture, even in a portable blender.
All three fit perfectly in the Ilvek Pro's 600ml cup. One charge, one minute, zero excuses for skipping your greens. [Shop the Ilvek Pro Portable Blender →]
